Things to do in Tel Aviv

Here is what I would do in Tel Aviv beyond the beach (the beaches have their own guide: Tel Aviv beaches). Note that several museums close on Sunday.

Museums

• Tel Aviv Museum of Art, 27 Shaul HaMelech Boulevard: closed Sunday; Monday, Wednesday and Saturday 10:00-18:00; Tuesday and Thursday 10:00-21:00; Friday 10:00-14:00. Adults pay 55 NIS; under-18s and soldiers get in free, and so do new residents for up to two years, with a card or certificate (Tel Aviv Museum of Art (opens in a new tab)).
• ANU - Museum of the Jewish People, on the Tel Aviv University campus, Klausner Street (gate 2 or 7): open 10:00-17:00 Sunday to Wednesday; olim and students pay 44 NIS and children under 5 are free. The "Heroes" gallery for ages 6 to 12 opens on Saturdays in 90-minute time slots booked ahead (ANU (opens in a new tab)).
• Eretz Israel Museum (MUZA), 2 Haim Levanon Street, Ramat Aviv: closed Sunday; Monday to Wednesday 10:00-16:00, Thursday 10:00-20:00, Friday 10:00-14:00, Saturday 10:00-16:00. Adults pay 58 NIS, Tel Aviv residents 47 NIS, and children under 18 are free; the planetarium is temporarily closed (Eretz Israel Museum (opens in a new tab)).
• Independence Hall on Rothschild Boulevard, where the Declaration of Independence was read in 1948, is closed for a renovation that has stalled, with no reopening date (Bizportal, Hebrew (opens in a new tab)).

The White City

UNESCO listed the White City in 2003. It has about 4,000 International Style ("Bauhaus") buildings built from the 1930s to 1948, between Allenby Street, Begin Road and Ibn Gvirol, the Yarkon and the sea (Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality (opens in a new tab)). The Liebling Haus White City Center at 29 Idelson Street has a permanent exhibition and runs tours; it is open Sunday to Thursday 8:00-19:00, Friday 8:00-14:00 and Saturday 9:00-14:00 (Liebling Haus (opens in a new tab)).

Free walking tours

A free tour "From Old Tel Aviv to the White City" leaves every Saturday at 11:00 from 46 Rothschild Boulevard (corner of Shadal Street); for updates, email tourism@mail.tel-aviv.gov.il or call +972-3-516-6188 (Visit Tel Aviv, Hotel Association (opens in a new tab)). The same page lists a daily 14:00 tip-based tour from the clock tower in Jaffa, booked in advance.

Jaffa

Start at the city tourist information center at 2 Marzouk and Azar Street (Visit Tel Aviv (opens in a new tab)). The Old Jaffa Tales visitor center at Kedumim Square has exhibits on Jaffa's history (Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality (opens in a new tab)), and the Jaffa Flea Market on Olei Zion Street is open Sunday to Friday (Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality (opens in a new tab)).

Sarona

The Sarona visitor center tour takes 45 to 60 minutes and covers the museum, the Templer olive press and the old winery tunnel; tickets are 20 NIS (12 NIS for children and seniors), booked by phone or WhatsApp on +972-3-604-9634 (Visit Tel Aviv (opens in a new tab)).

Parks

Yarkon Park has boat rental on the lake, the Tzapari bird park and the Ganei Yehoshua gardens; Ariel Sharon Park has trails and bike paths (Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality (opens in a new tab)). See the park and parks and nature directories.

With kids

The city's family list includes the Meymadion water park, Luna Park, an ice rink and climbing walls near the convention center on Rokach Boulevard, and HaTachana, the old train station, which has weekly children's events (Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality (opens in a new tab)). Opera with English surtitles

The Israeli Opera performs at the Shlomo Lahat Opera House, 19 Shaul HaMelech Boulevard; for example, its November 2026 production of Peter Grimes is sung in English with Hebrew and English surtitles (Israeli Opera (opens in a new tab)). Upcoming dates are on our events page.
