Tel Aviv is compact, so most areas work for a short stay. Here is how I would choose, depending on what you came for.

Along the beach (HaYarkon Street)

The city describes Frishman Beach as next to the main hotel strip (Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality (opens in a new tab)). Staying here puts you near Gordon, Frishman and Bograshov beaches, and a walk from Ben Yehuda Street, where several English-friendly shuls are (see Shabbat in Tel Aviv). For example, the Dan Tel Aviv at 99 HaYarkon Street lists "Kosher" among its food facilities on the Tel Aviv Hotel Association's site (Visit Tel Aviv, Hotel Association (opens in a new tab)).

Rothschild and the city center

This is the White City, the UNESCO-listed area of International Style buildings, and the city recommends walking Rothschild Boulevard to see restored buildings (Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality (opens in a new tab)). There is a city tourist information point at 11 Rothschild Boulevard (Visit Tel Aviv (opens in a new tab)).

Between Neve Tzedek and Jaffa (Kaufman Street)

The InterContinental David at 12 Kaufman Street says it is kosher and supervised by the Rabbanut of Tel Aviv-Yafo (InterContinental David Tel Aviv (opens in a new tab)). From here you can walk to Neve Tzedek, Charles Clore Beach and Jaffa.

Jaffa

Old Jaffa has a city tourist information center at 2 Marzouk and Azar Street (Visit Tel Aviv (opens in a new tab)) and the Old Jaffa Tales visitor center at Kedumim Square (Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality (opens in a new tab)). The Red Line light rail runs through Jaffa into central Tel Aviv (Wikipedia (opens in a new tab)).

Sarona and Azrieli

There is a tourist information center at 11 Aluf Albert Mendler Street in Sarona (Visit Tel Aviv (opens in a new tab)). Sarona Market, the indoor food hall, is nearby at Kalman Magen 3 (Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality (opens in a new tab)). This area is convenient if you are here for business.

The north and the port

Tel Baruch beach is described by the city as quieter and away from the main hotel strip (Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality (opens in a new tab)). The north is close to Yarkon Park and the Ramat Aviv museums (see Things to do in Tel Aviv).

Kosher hotels and Shabbat

If you need a kosher kitchen, check what each hotel itself says, as the two examples above do. The Tel Aviv Hotel Association has a search of all its member hotels (Visit Tel Aviv, Hotel Association (opens in a new tab)). If you keep Shabbat, remember that trains and the light rail don't run, the free weekend buses do, and taxis charge 25% more on Shabbat (Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality (opens in a new tab)). Ask the hotel about Shabbat arrangements before you book.

Tourist information hours

The three city information centers (Jaffa, Sarona and Rothschild 11) are open Sunday to Thursday 9:00-17:30, Friday 9:00-16:00 and Saturday 10:00-16:00 (Visit Tel Aviv (opens in a new tab)).
